LOVED BY CHILDREN AND SUFFERED BY ADULTS

It was a dark and stormy night when our adored warrior, Lawrence David Klenk fell prey to an ambush of an armada of maladies.

Our loving husband, father, grandfather, and knight in shining armor crossed into the ethereal realm on April 26, 2021, at the age of 78.

Lawrence was born August 5, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents Charles Henry Klenk and Elfriede Kamp. He wed his beloved, Ruby (Price) in the Salt Lake Temple on August 1, 1974, and sired four children: Jennifer, Lisa (Jared Burgess), Matthew (Jenn), and Lynell (Jonathan Dissel) who begat 12 grandchildren.

Lawrence was a magical man of mystery and lived a classified life. He was a Naval Vietnam Veteran and Cryptological Technician; retired with honor having served his country 26 years. His military background and devotion to faith parlayed into a 27-year Security career for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
As a renaissance man, his quill was sharp as his sword, having received a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in English from Brigham Young University. Lawrence was a journalist, bard, raconteur, and artist. He was famous for his Christmas breakfast and made-from-scratch chocolate chip cookies. Lawrence attacked life with curiosity, wonder, and a knack for adventure. He had a quick wit and a kind sense of humor. He embodied unconditional love.

"For in that sleep of death what dreams may come, When we have shuffled off this mortal coil, Must give us pause." - Shakespeare
