Jesse Fermin Duran, our beloved father, brother, grandfather and friend passed away unexpectedly from a heart attack, at his home in Murray, Utah on August 18, 2022.  Born on May 6, 1953 in Murray, Utah to Fermin and Ernestina Duran, who have proceeded him in death.  Survived by his children and grandchildren:  Leah, Angel, Andres, Richelle and The Great Granddaughter Amariana Lobato; Jason, Rachon, Lauren and Emma; Marcia, Ryan Hamblin, Adia and Raina Hennessy. Siblings: Della and Jack Matthews; Yolanda and Jose Martinez; Ernie and Cathy; Ruby and Justin Tidwell; Mary (David) Henry, and Joey. Also, survived by Margine Montoya and Family.  Jesse left behind countless nieces, nephews, and cousins.  He was warmly welcomed into heaven by his parents, uncles, aunts, cousins and his many fur babies.

Jesse was an avid gardener and loved all things “green” and living.  He loved to be barefoot in his garden surrounded by his amazing plants and animals.  He enjoyed baking and sharing recipes. After his retirement of 45 years with CenturyLink, he spent time camping, going to concerts, restoring his ’66 GTO and spending numerous hours helping others, dropping of bags full of vegetables and fruit around the valley including trash sized bags of grapes to the food bank.

Jesse always saw the best in people.  He always encouraged everyone to be fully educated to make the best choice possible with no judgment.  He was an advocate of training and education saying, “Education is something that can’t be taken from you.” He assisted his grandkids to further their educations as well as provided support and guidance to multiple children he loved and cared for.
