Jeanne Adamson Allred Jenkins

June 12, 1926 — November 10, 2021

In loving memory of a wonderful mother and loving wife, sister, and grandmother. Jeanne was born in St. Marks Hospital in Salt Lake City on June 12, 1926, to Albert James Newman and Electa Catharine Capson. She was a beloved first child and her parents doted on her. A sister Mary was born in 1933.

They lived on a few acres in Holiday, UT, and she had a very happy childhood, herding cows, tending animals, and helping in the garden and orchard. Membership in the Church of Jesus Christ was the center of their home. Electa had a bad heart and died in 1936, when Jeanne was 9 years old. She and her father grew very close. He remarried in 1940 to Virginia Ellis, who became a wonderful second mother to Jeanne and Mary, and another sister, Virginia, was added to the family in 1943.

Jeanne graduated from the University of Utah in 1948 as an RN, in the Cadet Nurse Corp. She married Larry Blaine Adamson in September 10, 1948, in the Salt Lake Temple. They homesteaded on 93 acres in Pasco, WA. Larry also worked at Benton Franklin Title Insurance and started his own law practice. They were blessed with 5 children, and the gospel of Jesus Christ was paramount in their home. Larry became sick in 1959, and passed away in July, leaving Jeanne with 5 young children, from 9 years to 4 months. Their youngest son, Daniel, passed away at age 13 in a farming accident. Despite these tragedies, Jeanne led her family with strength and faith. She raised her children in truth and righteousness. Her main objective in life was for her children to be faithful members and disciples of Jesus Christ

She married Cecil Frandsen Allred in 1973, civilly in the Seattle Temple. She enjoyed being a step mother to his three children: Keith (Janice) Allred, Ann (Bud) Almond and Von (Sherry) Allred, and a grandmother to their children. They have an eternal bond. They were married for 22 wonderful years before Cecil passed away in 1996. She was married to George Jenkins in 1997, also civilly, in the Seattle Temple. They had a loving relationship for 22 years before Jeanne passed away. He survives her.

Jeanne Loved to be busy outdoors, and kept a beautiful yard and an acre of garden.  Blackberries, raspberries and strawberries were her specialty. She also enjoyed needlecrafts, and the family has many things that she made. She loved cats especially, but all animals, and was so kind to them. She was a good cook, and canned her home grown produce. She leaves a legacy of faith and testimony to her 4 living children, Shari (Craig) Evans, Tanya (Scott) Harrison, Jill (Denny) Blodgett, Kevin (Gwen) Adamson, 37 grandchildren, 87 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild. We will miss her ready smile and laugh. She was loved by all who knew her. We are thankful that she is with her Savior, whom she loved so much.
