Edna Lamm

December 27, 1929 — December 7, 2020

Edna Louise Lamm (Dommer), born December 27,1929 in Monterey, CA to Arthur and Clara Dommer, died of exposure to COVID-19 on December 7, 2020.  Edna had three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her brother, Ralph Dommer. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Lamm (1991).

Edna, beloved mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother was the best at all her roles. She leaves behind two children, Ernest (Vicki Lamm) and Marlene; 5 grandchildren, Jamie, Kyle, Scott, Kali, and Kirsten; and 4 great-grandchildren, Allison, Benjamin, Skye, and Nora. Edna liked to say she had three lives: 1) raised in Monterey, 2) marriage and raising her children in Chicago, and 3) grandmother duties in Salt Lake City.

Edna was very dedicated to her sports, but especially baseball and her beloved Chicago White Sox. She took her family to many Sox games over the years and would listen to any type of sports game she could every single night. She was an avid gardener and grew the most amazing vegetable garden every summer. Edna loved to collect shells on the beach and made all kinds of crafts with them. She enjoyed food of any kind (she even tried wasabi once!) and loved teaching her grandkids to eat crab and artichokes. She would never let a scrap of food go to waste.

Edna was a bold woman who was not afraid of stating her opinion. That is one of the things most people found so endearing about her.  She was kind and caring and every one who interacted with her was charmed. She was always there to take care of anyone who needed it and there wasn't a thing you couldn't talk to “Gram” about. Needless to say, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A huge thank you to all of the staff at Rocky Mountain Care at Cottage on Vine, who cared for Edna in her last years of life.  Given the current situation with COVID-19, no memorial will be held at this time.
