Funeral Recording

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Colleen Summerhays passed away on February 13, 2021.  She was born on June 13, 1926 in Salt Lake City to Lucille Campbell and Joseph Hanley.  She attended Granite High School.  Upon graduation she went to work as a bookkeeper for Hyrum Summerhays whom she  married in 1945.  Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  She was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and well loved by all who knew her.  She has been described as being charming, witty, intelligent and kind.

Colleen is survived by children Briant, Sheila, Laurel and Lani (Roger), 13 grandchildren, and 25 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband and son Scott.

A visitation will be held, Saturday, February 20, 2021 at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S) from 11-11:45 a.m.  Due to current circumstances the funeral will be for family only, immediately following the visitation, at 12:00 p.m.   For those wishing to watch the services via stream, please click on the link below, Saturday at 12:00 p.m. Streaming will begin about 10 minutes before the service begins.
Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the amazing staff at The Wellington and her awesome Brio Hospice dream team for the tender loving care they gave her the last months of her life.
