Carolyn Palmer Thomas beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother passed away on November 5, 2022, after a long battle with dementia. She was born February 17, 1940, in Wallace, Idaho to George Owen Palmer and Lelia Hansen.

Carolyn was married to Kent Madsen Thomas on March 17, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple. They were blessed with six children, David, Scott, Ann, Camille, Audrey, and Seth. She had 11 grandchildren (Ben, Kate, Jacob, Daniel, Ashlyn, Mack, Joe, John, Christy, Julianna, and Cole).

Carolyn was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1955 as a teenager. She has remained faithful her whole life. She and Kent served a mission in Ghana, Africa for 23 months and then an intercity mission in Salt Lake City for two additional years. She served in the Salt Lake City temple for many years. She enjoyed talking and visiting with people wherever she was.

Carolyn worked in area hospitals and taught maternal-child health at the University of Utah College of Nursing for 22 years. She was a graduate of the first class of Nurse Midwives in Utah in 1967.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Kent Thomas, two sisters Kay Holman and Beverley Bishop, children and grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 11, 2022 at 12 noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at 6890 Whitmore Way, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121. At Carolyn's request a viewing will not be held. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Primary Children’s Hospital or Cancer Society.
