In Loving Memory

Joseph Ortell Kingston #14
1951-2020

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle & friend, Joseph Ortell Kingston, quietly passed through the veil on Sunday, May 24th, 2020, a beautiful spring day, at the young age of 68, fulfilling his mission of service to others and to God.

Joe was born November 18th, 1951 to John Ortell Kingston and LaDonna Peterson Kingston in Woods Cross, Utah, the oldest of nine children and a big brother to everyone.  Joe married Luana Joan Kingston, his childhood sweetheart, on June 6, 1970, and together they raised a wonderful loving family.  Joe was a traveling salesman in his younger life, and he has served as a property management consultant for the last 30 years where he spent countless hours leasing properties and forging lifelong friendships.   Joe was a gentle giant with a heart of gold, full of love, patience, kindness, and compassion towards others and he fought fiercely for the misfortunate and the underdog. He never missed an opportunity to lend a helping hand or offer words of encouragement to anyone and everyone in need.   He enjoyed spending time in the great outdoors with family & friends shooting guns, attending airshows, demonstrating his survival skills and also watching old western movies.   Joe considered everyone his family and his motto was “there’s always room for one more”.

Joe was a true Champion of Zion and his legacy will live on through every life he touched.

Joe is survived by countless family and friends and he will be missed dearly but we know that he will continue to be here for us.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 28th, 2020 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. Interment will be at Bountiful City Cemetery.

Gods Garden
A golden heart stopped beating,
Hard working hands at rest,
It broke our hearts to see you go,
God only takes the best.
They say that memories are golden,
Well maybe that is true.
But we never wanted memories,
We only wanted you.
Your life was love and labor,
Your love for your family true,
You did your best for all of us,
We will always remember you.
We watched as your health faded,
Our hearts were crushed and sore,
We did our duty to the end,
‘Til we could do no more.
In tears we watched you sinking,
We watched you fade away,
And though our hearts were breaking,
We knew you could not stay.
Our lips cannot speak how much we loved you,
Our hearts cannot find the words to say,
But God only knows how much we miss you,
In our home that is so lonely today.
