William (Bill) Silvers

William Ray (Bill) Silvers was born June 25, 1920, to parents, Ray and Xavie Silvers and passed away on September 14, 2024, at his home at the age of 104. He married Helen Jean Dee on November 28, 1946, in the Little Brown Church in the Vale, Nashua, Iowa. He was a 1947-1948 graduate of the University of Iowa. He served in the South Pacific in WWII and in the Army Reserves until retirement at the rank of Lt. Colonel in 1980.

He enjoyed family, his friends, all sports, fishing and snowmobiling. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church for many years and a lifetime member of both the American Legion and Reserve Officers Association.

He is survived by his son Michael Silvers, daughters, Dee Ann Silvers Wilcox, Susan Silvers Hall, Kelly Silvers, seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, son William Robert Silvers and granddaughter Nicole Silvers.

Services will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 2375 East 3300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. A viewing prior to service at the service at the church from 11-11:45 a.m. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
