Virginia Ann Riddle Boyd

July 21, 1925 – March 13, 2013

Virginia Ann Riddle Boyd peacefully passed away March 13, 2013. Virginia was born in Bedford Shelbyville Tennessee on July 21, 1925. She graduated from Shelbyville Central High School. Virginia also earned a B.S. degree in Home Economics from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She married John Ferguson Boyd III on February 21, 1947.  In 1957 she moved to Utah with her husband John when he accepted employment at Sperry Rand Corporation. Virginia received a Master of Science degree in 1969 from the University of Utah majoring in Nutrition and Minoring in Physiology and Education. Virginia enjoyed teaching and spent a number of years as an educator. Virginia loved her home on Cottonwood Lane Located in Holladay Utah. She enjoyed sewing and gardening and her yard was a picturesque spot of beauty.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, father, Elijah Meredith Riddle mother, Katie Vernon Coldwell, husband John Ferguson Boyd III, brothers Albert Sandusky Riddle (Shelbyville Tennessee), Meredith Coldwell Riddle (Honolulu, Hawaii), and sister Katharine Jane Riddle Thompson of (Chattanooga, Tennessee).

Virginia is survived by her son, David Michael Boyd Grafton West Virginia and sister-in-laws Cornelia Ellington Riddle (Albert) and Dolores Guthrie Riddle (Meredith)

Thank you to the caregivers at Carrington Court assisted living facility and Millcreek Home Health workers for their kind and loving devotion shown to Virginia while residing there. Many thanks also to the multitude of friends and neighbors, especially Shaunalie and Maria who showed concern and offered assistance many times to Virginia during her time of need. Interment will be in the Saint Mark Cathedral Columbarium. No viewing or public service is scheduled. Online condolences to the family can be made at www.cannonmortuary.com
