Valentine Savage Clark

1921-2011

Surrounded by her loving daughters, Valentine passed away on Saturday, January 29th.

She was born on Valentine’s Day in Junction, UT to C.A. and Emma Savage.  She grew up the only sister with five brothers, one of whom survives her, Neal Savage.

Valentine attended B.Y. High School and BYU where she met Elden D. Clark, Jr.  They were married January 25, 1942 and moved to Santa Maria, CA where Elden attended the Army Air Corps Officer’s Training program and Valentine worked as an S2 agent and an executive secretary.

After leaving the military service they made their home in Scottsdale, AZ for 36 years where they raised three daughters and were sealed in the Mesa, AZ Temple.

Always active in responsibilities as a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Sister Clark served in Relief Society, Young Women’s and Primary auxiliaries where her warmth and goodness touched countless individuals.

Valentine was a great example to her family and friends and was loved and respected by all.  Through the years many have looked to emulate her example of graciousness, compassion and elegance.

Valentine was preceded in death by her husband and is survived by her daughters, Brooke Carter (Carl), Shauna Kemsley (Blaine), Cherie Daniels (Michael), 14 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 4, 2011 at the Holladay South 4th Ward, 4917 S. Viewmont St. (2085 E.) at 11:00AM with visitation from 10:00 to 10:45 AM.

Friends may visit with the family Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the same location.  Interment, Provo City Cemetery.
