Trent Gaylon Peterson

1968-2015

Trent Gaylon Peterson, 46, beloved son, brother, uncle & friend, passed away at his home on October 12, 2015.  It was then that his spirit was released from his worn out shell and is now exploring eternity with his family & friends in heaven.

He was born December 4, 1968 in Salt Lake City to Gaylon & Linda Peterson.  He was the eldest of 6 children.  Trent graduated from Alta High School class of 1987, where he played on the hockey team. He worked throughout the years within various trades of the construction industry. He was an avid outdoorsman, and a talented craftsman.  Always willing to lend a hand or help out. He enjoyed camping, hiking, the Utah Utes and enjoying time with his nephews & nieces as often as he could. Although Satan did his best to diminish Trent’s inner spirit, he could not put out the smile that was always on his face or weaken his love for his family.

His sometimes-rough exterior was overpowered quickly with his love that he shared with everyone.  He was always first to offer a smile or a joke. He loved to tell imaginative stories that could captivate the minds of his nieces & nephews. And he made it his mission to be at their important events.

Trent is survived by his parents, Gaylon & Linda Peterson, his 4 sisters, Holli Wagaman (Charles), Heidi Cochran (Corry), Amy Watson (Michael), and Kallie Holm (Mike), as well as his long awaited brother Travis Peterson (Becky).  He is also survived by his adored 12 nieces and his 13 nephews.

Trent is preceded in death by his grandparents, Murry & Della Peterson and Royal & Josephine Stoker.  Now Trent is finally at rest, and we can hold his spirit close to our hearts till we meet again.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015, 12:00 pm at the LDS Chapel located at 6301 South 2300 East, Holladay.  A visitation will be held at the church that morning from 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Internment following at Larkin Sunset Gardens.
