Taylor J. Kennedy

June 16, 1982 – March 6, 2014

Taylor John “TJ” Kennedy, beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed away on March 6, 2014 in Salt Lake City, Utah.  He was 31 years old.

TJ was born on June 16, 1982 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gordon L. Kennedy and ShirLene Taylor Kennedy.  He married Jessica L. Standifird on August 8, 2005.  They were sealed for all time and eternity on February 13, 2010 in the Salt Lake City Temple.  Together they brought into the world two beautiful children.  TJ is survived by his wife Jessica, his two children; Craig (3) and Jaylynn (3); his parents Gordon and ShirLene Kennedy, brother; William (Julie) Kennedy; his in-laws Mike and Kathy Standifird; and his grandparents James and Donna Taylor; not to mention his countless other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his brother Robert Kennedy; his grandparents Alonzo and Alta Kennedy, his uncles Craig Taylor and Blair Kennedy.

TJ’s greatest accomplishment was his two children.  God entrusted to TJ and Jessica a very special prince and princess.  TJ poured all of his energy into the twins to ensure that they would be taken care of. He was an amazing father and husband.  There was not anything that TJ would not do for his family and friends and in return TJ was loved by all.  TJ grew up in Cottonwood Heights, Utah and attended Brighton High School.  TJ was an accomplished golfer and went on to play golf for Dixie College.  After graduating from Dixie, TJ continued his life-long pursuit of education at the University of Utah, where he graduated with honors and two Bachelor’s Degrees.  TJ went on to complete his MBA, also from the University of Utah.  He loved everything about the U of U and held football season tickets with his father, brother and closest friend.  TJ was very successful in the financial industry, specializing in credit unions sector.  In 2007 he moved to Pocatello, Idaho to be CEO of a credit union.  In 2012 TJ led a merger with another credit union and moved back to Salt Lake City.  With hard work and dedication he excelled in both his education and work endeavors.  One of his favorite times of the year was the annual golfing trip that he shared with many of his family and friends.
