Theodore Rodnie “Rod” Brown Sr.

1932-2011

Our awesome husband, dad, and grandpa returned home to our Heavenly Father on October 5, 2011. Rod was born on December 7, 1932 to Theodore Richard and Esta Perry Brown in Salt Lake City, UT. Rod grew up in Provo, UT and graduated from Provo High School in 1951. Two weeks later married the love of his life Margie L. Carter on June 13, 1951 in the Salt Lake Temple.

Rod and his father started the business T.R. Brown and Son. After his father’s retirement the business was known as Advanced Protection Company. He had many important contracts on LDS temples, civic buildings and shopping centers. Rod was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints and served in various callings. Rod served an LDS mission in the Member Locater Department for 5 years. The best things in his life were flying his airplane, water skiing, and camping with his family.

Rod is survived by his wife of 60 years and his 5 children; Theodore “Ted” Rodnie Jr., Jeff (Cheryl), Tim (Jolene), Michelle (Steven) Christensen, and Von (Mona), 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, and grandson, Jamie Brown and dogs too many to mention.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Highland 4 th Ward, 10200 South 4000 West, South Jordan, UT. Friends may visit family on Monday, October 10, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 Bengal Blvd. (7600 So.) SLC, UT, and from 9:00-10:30 a.m. prior to fun eral services. Interment Mountain View Memorial Estates.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made at any Wells Fargo Bank in loving memory of Theodore Rodnie Brown.
