Scott James Newman, age 34, passed from this life on July 25, 2016, a victim of a fatal car crash in Tooele County, Utah.  Born on December 12, 1981, at Fort Ord, California, to Stuart Kevin Newman and Peggy Lynne Meikle.  He married Britnie Rae Orgill in February 2002; they later divorced.  He married Jennifer Schmitz in June 2008; they were separated at the time of his passing.  Scott was the father of three children: Garret William, Alyson Michelle, and Bryson Garret Newman.  He was a loving father who adored his children and found great joy in the time he spent with them.  Scott loved music, and could often be heard humming a tune or strumming on his guitar.  He was a great cook, a skill which he employed both professionally and at home.  He loved animals and enjoyed having a variety of pets.  Scott was an easy-going man with a generous spirit.  He was playful with all the children in his extended family and was one of their favorites to have around.  He will be greatly missed.

Scott is survived by his children Alyson and Bryson Newman, parents Kevin and Cynthia Newman, brother William Andrew Newman, and sister Rebekah Ellen Newman.  He is preceded in death by his grandfathers Stuart Arnold Newman and Gary Meikle, and his son Garret Newman.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at the Northpoint LDS Chapel located at 1460 N. Morton Drive, Salt Lake City, UT, 84116.  Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the place of service.  Internment will take place at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.  Donations can be made in Scott’s name to Rescue Mission of Salt Lake.
