Sandra Kay Nugent
Sandra Nugent passed away May 29th 2017 at Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City at the age of 74 of renal failure after being a cancer survivor for over twenty years. Sandy, our beloved mother, was born Sandra Kay Slink on April 16, 1943 to Helen Marguerite and Walter K. Slink. She married Wayne Royce Nugent in 1964 at the Aztec Apartments in Salt Lake City. He preceded her in death in 2006. She is survived by her daughters Sara and Carol Nugent.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints which gave her much comfort, spiritual strength and sense of community. She graduated from BYU with a Bachelors degree in Art and Creative Writing. She created beautiful water color paintings, fashion illustrations and sculpture during those days. She inspired artistic expression with her daughters hands-on. We have so many fond memories of crafting at the dining room table, going to shops for supplies and taking classes together. Mom showed her altruism donating to various charities and sponsored children through The Christian Children's Fund.
We would like to convey our deepest heartfelt thanks to Allie and John Diamond, Genie Mu and her extended family and friends at Holladay Home.
A graveside service at 3 PM will be held in the SLC Cemetery on Friday June 2, 2017, 4th Avenue "N" Street, at the Ericson plot inside the cemetery, located at 350 N. Main St., (890 E.) on the West 1 block. This is located East of the tennis courts of Lindsey Gardens.
