Ruth Sjoblom Johnson, 83, beloved, adored and treasured wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on July 29, 2011 of respiratory failure, surrounded by her family. Ruth was born on October 5, 1927 to Arthur and Florence Lancaster Sjoblom at Murray, Utah. She loved growing up on the Plain View farm in Draper and attending Draper schools. She graduated from Jordon High School and LDS Business College. She married her long time sweetheart, Carl Bevan Johnson, on November 19, 1948 in the Salt Lake temple. They were married for 63 years. She is survived by her husband Bevan, her children, Holly and Charlie Richards of Draper, Julie and Kim Lund of Centerfield, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and sisters-in-law, Emeline Johnson and Mary Sjoblom, many nieces and nephews. Everyone who knew her, loved her fun loving, playful personality. She will be greatly missed by all.

Proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Duane, Bob (Margery), Paul (Lois).

She worked for 27 years as an elementary school secretary for the Jordan school district. She was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. She served in many callings throughout her life. Her family was her greatest joy! The times she spent with her family gathered together for celebrations and parties were her favorite. She made many quilts for her grandchildren and baby blankets for her great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at 12:00 noon at the Brighton 4 th Ward, 2327 East Bengal Boulevard, (7600 South), Cottonwood Heights, Utah. Family and friends may call Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 Bengal Boulevard and Wednesday morning from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment – Midvale City Cemetery.

The family would like to express gratitude to the Alta View Hospital ICU nurses and doctors for their loving care to her and her family.
