Russell D Lundeen

Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, passed away, February 18 2026.

Survived by his children, Lori Lundeen, Carla Swanson (Bryce),Guy Lundeen (Stephanie) Lynae Farnsworth (Robert), MichaelLundeen. 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and his sister Jill Rogers.

Russell was born in Venice California in 1929, where at a very young age his father passed away after which, his mother,packed up him and his younger brother and moved to the Salt Lake valley.

Later, he courted and married Lael Cowley in 1950, right before he received the call to serve in the U.S. Army. They lived in Seattle Washington until his discharge. They moved back to Union / Cottonwood Heights, where they themselves, built a house and home and raised their five children.

Russ, was a skilled craftsman. “Rusty”, as his coworkers called him, worked most of his career at EIMCO Mining Machinery. He began by sweeping floors. Then with skills and determination, worked his way up to be supervisor of the Prototype department, creating experimental mining machinery.

Preceded in death by his beautiful, loving wife (2024) father David, mother Florida, step-father Trueman, his brother Doug, brother Brent, great granddaughter Kadence Farnsworth, son-in-law Bryce Swanson.

There will be a viewing for family and friends at Cannon mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) Monday Feb 23. 6-7 pm.

No other service at his request.

The Lundeen’s would like to thank the helpful staff at Valencia care center and Cascade springs home health & hospice, especially Sara W. for all their help in making Russell comfortable in his final days.
