Robert "Bob" Stackhouse

Robert “Bob” Stackhouse, born June 28, 1940, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away peacefully on August 27, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Bob was a proud Navy veteran and a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He was a man who believed in showing up for the people he loved.

Bob was a lifelong Catholic, and his faith was an important part of his life. He spent many years as a parishioner at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, where he volunteered his time and gave back to his church community. His faith guided him throughout his life and was a source of strength and comfort to him.

Those who knew Bob will remember his silly sense of humor, his endless supply of dad jokes, and his ability to make even the simplest moments fun. He never met a stranger. Whether he had known someone for years or had just met them, Bob had a way of making people feel welcome, valued, and special. He was always there when someone needed him, offering a helping hand, a listening ear, a laugh, or simply his presence.

Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Camille, who was truly the love of his life. Their love was a beautiful and lasting part of who Bob was, and he carried her with him always. We take comfort in knowing that they are together again.

Bob was a loving father to four children; Bonnie Jean Pennock-Orlowski (Charles), Christopher Scott Stackhouse (Amie), Karyn Lynn Horridge (William), and Charles Robert Stackhouse (Andrea); a proud grandfather to fourteen grandchildren; and a great-grandfather to eight great-grandchildren. His family was his greatest source of pride and joy.

Bob leaves behind a family who will miss his laughter, his stories, his jokes, and, most of all, the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, family, and friends whose lives he touched.

He was deeply loved, and he will be deeply missed.
