Robert John Moyes, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years at the age of 79 on June 3, 2026.
Bob was born on November 12, 1946, in Ogden, Utah, to his loving parents, Oliver Harold Moyes and Viola Jones Moyes.
For 43 years, Bob faced the challenges of diabetes with quiet strength, courage, and determination. Through countless insulin shots, dietary restrictions, and many health complications, he rarely complained. Instead, he focused on living life to the fullest and enjoying the things he loved. For many years, he could be found on the golf course, at the shooting range, or spending time with family and friends.
Those who knew Bob were inspired by the way he carried his burdens—with patience, grace, and an enduring sense of gratitude. He never let his health challenges define him. Rather, they revealed his resilience, character, and unwavering spirit. His example taught those around him the value of perseverance and the quiet strength that comes from facing life's trials with dignity and faith.
Bob’s sense of humor and profound love for his family will be deeply missed. During his final week, he expressed his love in ways that his family will cherish forever, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Bob is survived by his eternal companion, Gwen Stout Moyes; his brothers Harold Moyes and Stephen Moyes (Pam); His children Tina Hodges (Brian), Melissa Moyes (Michael Wong), and Angela Taylor (Joseph). His grandchildren Brady, Zach, Cameron, Will, Jared, Max, Kateland, Preston, Alex, MacKenzie and great grandchildren Kohen & Krew.
