Robert D. Grow

1938-2013

Robert Grow (Bob) passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at home from Interstitial Lung Disease. Born January 17, 1938 to William Henry Grow Jr. and Ethel Graham Grow in Salt Lake City. He married Bonnie Beynon on June 6, 1957.  Later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on May 22, 1964, For Time and All Eternity.

Graduated from South High, attended Trade Tech for plumbing.  Member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 19 and now Local 140 for 55 years.

He retired from the LDS Church Facility Management Department after 21 years.

Robert was an avid outdoor sportsman. He loved to hunt anything and everything, his favorite being duck hunting and bow hunting for deer.

Robert was a Stake Athletic Director for many years, also a dedicated Home Teacher. Home Teaching at the Utah State Prison for three years and at the Wentworth Assisted Living Center for six years.

Robert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, and was loved by all who knew him.

Survived by; his wife Bonnie, children; Candy (Mark, deceased) Stanley, Robert (Janean), John (Sandra), Sandy Olney, Julie (Craig) Thompson, 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, brother, Bill (Jawnie) Grow, sister, Ann Sharp.  Preceded in death by parents, brother, Richard Grow (12-22-2012), son-in-law, Mark Stanley.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cottonwood Heights Stake Center 6890 South 2225 East (North of Whitmore Library).  A viewing will be held on Friday Evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and the day of the service from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the same address. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.

The Family would like to Thank Jennifer and Encompass Hospice Service for the care that was given and DJ at Lincare.
