Robert Earl Davis, Father, Grandfather, Uncle and Brother, passed away unexpectedly on Feb 15, 2023, at the age of 77 of natural causes. Born July 26th, 1945, at the LDS hospital in Salt Lake City to Frank and Jean Davis. As a child he lived in Oregon, Idaho and Utah, he often talked of walking in the woods with his brothers in Oregon as boys and how fun it was. He married Marilane Steinley in August of 1966. (Later divorced).

Bob served in the Army and was a member of the LDS church. Bob was a man of many jobs, auto-mechanic, janitor, repair man, truck driver, even worked on a brine shrimp boat on the great salt lake for a short time. His favorite job was as a machinist, he liked to make intricate parts using high tech CNC lathes. One of his favorite hobbies was swimming, he loved to go to a pool and swim laps. He was quite a good swimmer and even entered a US Masters Swim meet, that made him quite happy. Bob was a talker and phone calls or visits with him could become very lengthy, this is a “disease” that runs in our family and he’s not the only one.

Bob is survived by his son Troy Davis and Daughter in law Jennifer Davis, and two grandchildren Coleman and Jeremy. He is also survived by his brother Frank (Luella) Davis, his sister-in-laws Cookie and Sue Davis, and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Bob is proceeded in death by his parents, and brothers Mike Davis and Steve Davis.

A visitation will be held Friday February 24th, 2023 from 6:00-
8:00 PM at Cannon Mortuary located at 2640 E. Bengal Blvd (7600 South). He will be laid to rest at the Salt Lake City Cemetery on February 25th, at noon where a short service will be held.
