Kearns

Our beloved Brother, Father, Uncle and Friend, Richard W. Lister, 76 passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday August 12, 2020 in Salt Lake City. He was born on January 30, 1944 in Pagosa Springs, Colorado to John and Teresa Lister.

He enlisted in the Army in 1962 and was discharged in April 1965. While in the Army he served in Korea and Panama. He enjoyed gardening and had a Green thumb. His garden always had tomatoes, green chili and onion, all the makings for Salsa. Richard loved camping and fishing at Strawberry Reservoir. He also had a knack for making Rocky Road Fudge (his secret recipe) and he always brought it to family gatherings, where we would share it with each other, and we would take some home. He enjoyed being with family during the holidays and Super Bowl games. He also loved preparing the green chili, peeling it and putting it into bags for later uses .

His favorite place to work was the VA Hospital, he was in Food Service and he would deliver meals to the Veterans there. He enjoyed talking and interacting with them. It was good therapy for him.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, John and Teresa Lister, Older Brother Vidal Lister and Nephew Brian Blockovich.
