Paula Paradise, age 84, passed away peacefully at home on March 5, 2026. True to her nature, Paula faced her terminal illness with dignity and silent courage, never complaining.
Paula was born February 11, 1942, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Paul and Elva Lindberg. Paula attended Brigham Young University, where she graduated as valedictorian from the College of Nursing. During her first year at BYU, Paula met Jack Paradise on a blind date. Paula and Jack were married in the Salt Lake Temple on June 5th, 1964.
As a registered nurse, Paula devoted herself to nursing at the hospital and later received a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Utah. Paula became credentialed as a Clinical Specialist in Adult Psychiatric and Mental Health Nursing. She dedicated much of her professional career as a therapist helping individuals with eating disorders.
Paula was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She and Jack were blessed to serve a mission together in Mozambique, Africa. Her love of family history was one of her greatest joys. She faithfully served at the Family History Library for 21 years, helping others find connections with their ancestors.
Paula’s life was one of quiet service, steadfast faith, and unwavering love. Her legacy lives on in her family and in the countless lives she touched through her kindness and devotion. She will remain forever in our hearts and memories.
Paula is survived by her husband, Jack; her children: Allan (Sheila), Glen (Lisa), Michelle, Karen (Bill) Baranowski, Benjamin (Regi), Mark (Jessica); siblings Randy Lindberg, Kristine Hiller, Lisa Lindberg, and Karen Rasmussen; her 18 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
We are grateful to all who offered support and comfort during her last months, especially the numerous hospice workers, who gave generously with respect.
