Michael Terry Gundersen, our loving father, Bopa and friend, (56) passed away on May 8th, 2024 in his home of a sudden, second heart attack. He was born June 6, 1967 in Sandy, Utah to the late Thomas Cutler Gundersen and Sandra Lee Terry.
Mike grew up working for his dad’s construction company and loved working with his hands. Later in his life, he served many by helping work on their homes or yards, this brought him much joy. Mike was a proud and loving member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where he served a mission in England, Manchester. He also held many callings, a recent one being on the High Counsel, providing him the opportunity to speak in many wards and interact with the members. Mike found joy through his work as a financial planner and advisor to seniors. He loved how his work was able to bless many. He loved playing sports and watching his kids and grandkids sporting activities. Being a Bopa to his grandkids was the light in his life. Mike always quoted his dad “If I knew having grandkids was so much fun, I would have had them first.” Mike will be remembered for always having a smile on his face, his chocolate chip cookies and being a constant provider of chocolate milk for his grandkids.
