Melvin A. Rosell, 86, passed away on September 10, 2011 at home of a lingering illness. Mel was born in Urbana, Ohio to Charles Walter Rosell and Anna Irene Binkley. Mel married Delores Gloria Williams on January 18, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio and later were sealed together in the Washington D.C. Temple in 1975.

Mel's career was custom drapery installation. He traveled throughout the United States and truly enjoyed is work. He finished his career working for J.C. Penny in their custom drapery department. Mel served in the the United States Air Force and obtained the rank of Staff Sargent. Mel is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and held many different church callings. He loved to draw, he loved his service in the military, he loved working in the Boy Scout program and he also enjoyed his association with those he worked with.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Delores (Dee), his son, Dennis(Zsa Zsa), his daughter, Rene (Wesley) Wilkinson, grandchildren, his sisters, Bessie (Jerry) Kirk, Bernetta Chuvalas, Charlotte (Bill) Davidson, and Edith Kelly, sister-in-law, Careen Rosell, and many nieces and nephews.

Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters

Mel will be missed by family and friends.

Friends may call Wednesday at 7:00 to 8:30 pm at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 Bengal Boulevard (7600 South). Interment will be at Redwood Memorial Park and Mortuary.
