Marilyn K. Madsen passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 15, 2016.  She was born to Curtis and Lila Keller on May 21, 1932.  She married McKeon Strate in 1951 and Kenneth Madsen in 1970.

Marilyn was a much loved member of her community.  She loved to laugh and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.  She was a dedicated, hard- working mother.  She loved working for the Murray City Fire Department and worked there until she retired.

Marilyn valued her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved attending the Temple.  She had an adventurous spirit and lived life to the fullest.  Her family will cherish fond memories of their time spent in Lake Powell, the family playground.

A special thanks to the loving staff at Legacy House and her dear friends in the Cottonwood 10th Ward.

Marilyn is survived by her children Kelley (Dean) West, Jodi (Jeff) Burgener, Mark (Tiffany) Madsen; her nine grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Claire, Ivy, Milo, Max, Jade, Bennett, and a great-granddaughter arriving in March 2017.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, her brother, her husband's and her son, Kyle.

A viewing will be held Sunday, December 18, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (2600 So), Cottonwood Heights, UT.  Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 E. 7800 S.
