Margaret Robinson Crane, our dear wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at hone on August 16, 2026 at age 89.
Margaret was born on July 10, 1937 in Eureka, Utah to Hugh and Janet Robinson. She graduated from West High School and then attended BYU. Deciding to have an adventure, Margaret boarded a ship bound for Hawaii, where she lived and worked for Qantas Airlines. At a church fireside, she met dashing Naval officer, Stanley Crane. They were married in 1961 in the Salt Lake temple by Elder LeGrand Richards. They made their home in Salt Lake City with their 3 daughters.
Margaret served faithfully in many church callings. In her professional career she became the CEO of the Home Builders Association of Utah. After her retirement she and Stan served a senior couple mission in Arcadia, CA, and a service mission in Salt Lake City. She and Stan also served as workers in the Jordan River temple. She enjoyed reading, she loved music and was an accomplished quilter, seamstress and painter. She also enjoyed travel and was able to return several times to her beloved Hawaii.
The family would like to thank Renew Hospice, especially Sanae and Elizabeth and many caring friends and neighbors.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley, daughters Susan (Dave, deceased) Hancock, Julie Crane, Sally Crane, brother Alan (Lori) Robinson, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at Garden Cove Ward, 8539 South 2200 West, West Jordan, Friday August 21, at 12:00 pm with a viewing at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Memorial Redwood Cemetery.
