LORIN SPENCERMILLER

April 7, 1921 –January 17, 2011

Lorin Spencer (Clyde)Miller , husband , father , grandfather , great-grandfather passed peacefully from this life athome on January 17 , 2011 at the age of 89. He was bornon April 7, 1921 in Herriman , Utah , son of Spencer Miller and Ardell Bigler Miller. He grewup on a farm in Herriman, Utah where he learned the value of hard work alongwith his brother, Douglas . His greatgrandfather , Thomas Joseph Butterfield wasfounder of Herriman. Upon graduation from Jordan High School, he was presentedwith a scho l arship to USU by Union Pacific Ra i lroad.

Lorin served amission to California for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- d ay
Saints in 1941-42. While on his mission he met h
i s first wife, Lucille Glover. After complet i on of her mission, they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on April 23 , 1945 by Elder John A Widstoe, following which he servedin WWII as a sergeant stationed at Fort Bragg, NC. They had eight children anda wonderful life together.

Lorin was always aseeker of education. He received his Juris Doctorate in Law from the Universityof Utah. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Sa i nts, serving in many callings, among them, Bishop . He was active in the Midvale Lions Club, serving a termas President. He was also owner of Western Battery & Electric Co .

With much sorrow , Lucille died on January 4, 1981. He then married BonnieBytheway Brewster on August 22, 1981 in the Salt Lake Temple. With Bonnie as amember of the Tabernacle Choir , they traveled theworld together and made many good friends. Together they served a mission toAustralia from 1992-94, and later served as Ordinance workers in the San DiegoTemple .

Lorin is survived bychildren Linda (Ray) Jenson, Michael (Christine) Miller , Paul (Yvonne) Miller, Douglas (Darlene) Miller, Parley(Patricia) Miller, Ardell (Patrick) Wong, Janan (Greg) Christensen and step-childrenElaine Brewster, Quinn (Kelly) Brewster , Lani (Kurt) Heldt, Chip (Janiene) Brewster , Marty (Alissa) Brewster . His posterityincludes 45 grandchildren , 53 great-grandchildren . Preceded in death

by his parents; wife,Lucille; son Dennis; brother Douglas and wife Kay, and step-son Scott Brewster .

Funeral services willbe held in the Grandville Ward Chapel , 11677 So . Grandville Ave. (5000 W) SouthJordan, Utah on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at 12:00 noon. Viewing will heldFriday evening from 6:30 p . m. to 8:00 p.m . at the Grandville Chapel, and before the funeral onSaturday from 10:30 a . m. until 11:30 a.m.
