Logan Heckenliable

June 11, 1994 — August 26, 2014

Logan Alexander Heckenliable
1994-2014

Logan Alexander Heckenliable, our loving son, brother, husband, father and friend, passed away August 26, 2014. His heart gave its last beats, the end of a life long battle with heart disease. He was born to Gary Wayne and Nancy Ferguson Heckenliable June 11, 1994. Through his entire life, he was a warrior: he endured and came out strong from many heart surgeries and numerous other medical procedures. He taught those around him the true meaning of strength, that miracles truly do happen and what really matters. Logan's physical heart was never as big as his true heart. He touched many with his "many words", witty humor and appetite for cookies, cheese and hot dogs. Logan was a very young man with many obstacles.

On September 18, 2010, Logan received a heart transplant. After many months of rehab, Logan was leading a normal life and soon was employed at Pizza Hut, a job he loved that made him feel like he was finally supporting himself and could just be a regular guy. He met Zoie Bleak and was finally truly happy after 18 years. Life was good. Soon after, they announced they were having a baby. Derek Steven was born healthy December 19, 2013. On June 30th, 2014, Logan was told he had limited time left. He found out that his heart was shutting down, and that is when his strength and dedication to his wife and child began to shine. He gave every breath of life he had to his wife and Little Man. Knowing Logan made us all a little better and taught us all to love a little deeper.

He is survived by his newlywed bride and best friend Zoie and their son Derek.  His loving mother Nancy Ferguson Heckenliable, proud father Gary (Jan) Heckenliable, brothers Jason, Justin, Taylor (Caitlin) Heckenliable, Neil Fadden, Sammy (Faith) Dao, Nick Bradley, and sister Cori. Grandparents: Mary Ferguson and Larry (Mary) Heckenliable, and many more family members and friends.  Preceded in death by grandparents William and Janet Ferguson.

Friends may call at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 South) Friday, August 29, 2014, from 6 to 8 pm. Services will be held, Saturday, August 30, 2014, at 12 noon, at the Paradise Ward 1555 West Lovely Rd (5080 South) Taylorsville, Utah. Friends may call 1 hour prior to service.  Interment to follow at Taylorsville City Cemetery.

Logan, be free - fly with the angels - walk with God, My Son.
