LaVon Terry White

LaVon Terry White, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend passed away April 6, 2023 after a long illness.  She loved visiting with her family, friends and loved ones.  Born August 13, 1936 in SLC, Utah to Alice Borg Terry and Ennis Alma Terry.

She married Richard Dean White February 17, 1955. They made their home in SLC and raised 5 children, Debbie (Judd) Mackintosh, Don (Cynthia) White, Robyn (Mike) Lichtie, Rocky (Mary Ann) White, Holly (Daren) Wartena. She had 16 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.  She kept an immaculate home and yard and was a most excellent hair stylist for many years.  Enjoyed working at ZCMI in the beauty salon and gift wrap, Legacy South Jordan Retirement Beauty Salon. LaVon made friends easily and had a great sense of humor.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and daughter, Holly, her parents and sisters, Jeneal Hofeling and Sandy Gundersen.  She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, sisters Rae (Dave) Coleman, Marti (Robert) Johns.

We would like to thank the wonderful people of Holladay Healthcare who cared for her and for the hospice team who became amazing friends.  We personally thank Sondi, Gage, Ashley, Tristen, Ty, Amber and many others for their friendship and kind care of our mother and to us.

There will be a viewing Friday April 14, from 6-8:30 pm at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd and a graveside service Saturday, April 15, 12:30 pm at Memorial Mountain View Estates, 3115 E. Bengal Blvd.  We thank many dear friends and family for loving our mom and our family.
