Kent Madsen Thomas

Kent Madsen Thomas passed away on January 6, 2023 at his home. Born February 20, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Naomi and Joseph Thomas. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Thomas (1940-2022), to whom he was married for 56 years. They were blessed with six children, David, Scott, Ann, Camille, Audrey, and Seth. With his family, he enjoyed waterskiing, snow skiing, hiking, camping, and backpacking.

Kent was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He was a loyal friend who loved to serve endlessly. He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings in his ward and stake. He served three missions, one in San Francisco, California at 19, and later with Carolyn in Ghana, Africa and an intercity mission in Salt Lake City.  Kent was an avid sports fan, especially playing racquetball with twin brother. He loved supporting his children’s sport pursuits.

He will be greatly missed by family, friends and brothers, Keith, Neal, and Dale.  He was preceded in death by his brother Lloyd.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 13, 2023 at 12 noon at the Cottonwood Heights LDS 3^rd Ward, 6890 S. Whitmore Way (2225 East) with a viewing one hour prior to the service.
