Kathleen Moana Wilde, 76, returned to her Heavenly Father on September 12, 2025. She passed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of faith, service, and love.
Born on March 13, 1949, in San Francisco, California, Kathy shared her childhood with her only sibling, Robert Wilde, in their family home near Liberty Park in Salt Lake City. Together they created many fond memories, including matching homemade Halloween costumes and time spent with family.
She served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the California North Mission (Sacramento), where she shared her testimony with many people. She went on to study graphic design at UVSC and worked many years in the business department at JCPenney, where she was known for her diligence.
The temple was central to Kathy’s life. She traveled to many temples, served faithfully as an ordinance worker in the Salt Lake Temple, and fulfilled a service mission as an usher at the Conference Center. She gave her all in numerous callings, always with quiet dedication. Kathy was a devoted visiting teacher and an example of Christlike service.
Her life reflected deep devotion to family. She lovingly cared for her parents, Helen Ross Wilde and Horace Gordon Wilde, in their later years, and she was a constant presence in the lives of her nieces and nephews—never missing a birthday card. Kathy was also a thoughtful gift giver, always finding ways to show her love through meaningful remembrances. She had a gift for making others feel remembered.
Kathy also enjoyed creative pursuits, especially cross-stitching. She was a world traveler, taking many trips with the Friendship Force organization, where she built friendships across the globe and served as an officer in the group. She generously supported many charities throughout her life.
She will be remembered as a faithful disciple of Christ, a devoted sister and aunt, and a dear friend.
Kathy is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Deanne Wilde, and her extended family who treasure her memory. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Ross Wilde and Horace Gordon Wilde.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Waterloo Ward, 1623 South 500 East, Salt Lake City, Utah. Interment will follow at the Lehi City Cemetery.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to all who have shown kindness and support to Kathy, especially her caring neighbors.
