Jo (Joan) Cutler Schlueter
4/12/35 – 2/21/11

We kissed a beautiful spirit goodbye today, and whispered wishes to her that she’d find the same hope, joy and peace she brought during her time with us.  Jo (Joan) Cutler Schlueter took her next step February 21, 2011. All who knew her will remember her bright blue eyes and her fantastic sense of humor.

Jo was born to Harold and Thelma Cutler, and spent her childhood in Salt Lake and later moved to Heber, Utah.  After raising her four children, she began a successful career in the hospitality industry, and worked many years as a convention coordinator and front desk manager at major destination resorts.  Many of the guests she served would remember her winning personality and became life-long friends.

Jo said her last goodbye to her children, Tawna Schlueter-Murphy, Bradley Schlueter, and Jenny Schlueter.  Her sisters Marilyn Henze and June Heath, her friend and caregiver Leeann Cheatham, along with her grandchildren Tawny, Aaron, Tiffany, Aidan, and Nadia will miss her.  She now joins her family who left too soon before her – son Mark, daughter Robyn, her grandson Joshua Simmons, sister Carol Hunsaker, and her loving husband Hal -- all who are now embracing her in her warm heaven. Jo’s family would like to send a heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Millcreek Home Health and Hospice, and Dr. Michael Galindo, who made Jo’s transition a peaceful and comfortable one.

Services to celebrate the love and laughter Jo brought during her life will be held Saturday, February 26, 2011, at Cannon Mortuary located at 2460 Bengal Boulevard (7600 South), and will begin at 10 a.m.  Burial will follow at the Salt Lake City Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, Jo’s well-wishers may choose to make a donation to the Utah Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association of Utah.
