JESSICA ESTHER WOOD WAGSTAFF

1980 – 2016

Jessica Esther Wood Wagstaff, our loving wife, mother, and daughter, passed away on November 23, 2016 at home after a courageous three-year battle with melanoma.  Jessica was born March 8, 1980, in Murray, Utah to P. Wayne Wood and Carmen Echeverria Wood.  She graduated from Olympus High School and attended UVU and Brigham Young University where she participated in a study abroad to Tonga and studied anthropology.

Jessica married Jerrin Wagstaff August 24, 2002, in Salt Lake City, Utah and lived in California from 2003 – 2015 where they had three children, Eli (11), Macie (9), and Gavin (4).  As a devout member of the LDS faith, she was known for her service and kindness to others and her faith in Jesus Christ.  Jessica served for many years in the Primary organization and enjoyed working with children.  She was also an avid runner.  Above all, Jessica loved being a mother to her children and dedicated her life to them.

Jess is survived by her husband (Jerrin), children (Eli, Macie, and Gavin), her mother (Carmen), and sisters (Monica, Audrey, Sylvia, Cynthia, and Claudia).

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2016, 11:00am at the LDS chapel on 8170 S. Shorthills Drive, SLC, UT 84121.  A visitation will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 from 6-8pm at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd., SLC, UT 84121 and the day of the service at the church from 10 - 10:45 am.

The surviving family would like to offer a special thanks to all family, friends, and medical professionals who assisted Jessica and her family during her cancer treatment.  Any donations will go to an education fund for Jessica’s children.
