Jeanne Marie Christenson

1932-2013

Jeanne passed away peacefully on Monday, February 18th, 2013, in Sandy,

Utah. She was born March 6th, 1932, in Ludington, Michigan, the only child of

Emmet and Zola (Masten) Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents and

husband of 55 years, Carl Christenson. Carl and Jeanne lived in the Grand Rapids

Michigan area until Carl’s passing in September, 2009. Jeanne was a high school

business teacher for over thirty years and enjoyed traveling and volunteering

during her retirement. Jeanne is survived by her daughter Susan (John) Porter of

Cottonwood Heights; son, David of Tucson, AZ; grandsons, Shaun and Kyle(Liz)

Porter; and granddaughter, Alexandra Christenson. The family wishes to thank

all of Jeanne’s caregivers at Sunrise of Sandy and Curo Home Health and Hospice.

Special thanks also to Dr. Danesh Rahimi at St. Mark’s Senior Center and to

Jeanne’s therapists at Highland Care Center for their countless efforts to keep her

going since her move out to Utah to be near her daughter. Funeral Mass will be

celebrated on Friday, February 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas More Catholic

Church, 3015 East Creek Road, Sandy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made

to your favorite charity.
