1920 – 2015

Jean Bee Draper Beesley, age 95, died peacefully at home on October 5, 2015 of natural causes.

She was born October 1, 1920 in Salina, Utah, the second of three daughters, to Clarence Elwood and Leah Bird Draper.  She graduated from South High School and studied bookkeeping at Stevens Heneger College.  She married Max Clarence Beesley on December 2, 1939; later divorced.  She was so proud of supporting the war effort during World War II in the manufacturing of airplane wings in Nevada.  She was also employed by the State of Utah and retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield after many years of service.  She was a member of the American Business Women’s Association and was honored as Woman of the Year in 1987.

She enjoyed her bridge group and having coffee with her friends.  She loved a good cup of coffee, hamburgers, her dogs, and watching her picture shows. She enjoyed traveling and playing a rousing game of cards with her sister Lois.  She was an excellent cook, proud mother and devoted grandmother, creating many cherished memories for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her sister Lois Brashear, five sons:  Gary, Ron (Stephanie), Marc, Stuart and Justin; thirteen grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and her dogs, Remington and Rufus.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Donna White, infant son Richard Clarence Beesley, daughters-in-law Marie Y. Beesley, Vicky T. Beesley and Vicky M. Beesley.

A viewing will be held Saturday, October 10, 2015 from 10:00–10:45 a.m. at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 Bengal Blvd. (7600 South) followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at Mountain View Memorial Estates, 3115 E. 7800 S., Cottonwood Heights, Utah.
