James (Jimi) Ruffin Sirles, our beloved Husband, Daddy, Papa, Brother age 72 passed away on October 24, 2023 in his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer.  Born September 5, 1951, in Ft.  Benning, Georgia to James and Elva Sirles.  He served an LDS mission in Ireland from 1970 – 1972.  After he returned home from his mission, he married his high school sweetheart Deborah Erickson Sirles on October 13, 1972 in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He served in the US Army from 1973 – 1976.  They then moved to the beautiful state of Utah to raise their children.  Jimi worked as a pipe fitter / welder at Rocky Mountain Fabrication and then later at Holly Refinery where he eventually retired.  His hobbies included going to concerts, being outdoors, camping, fishing, old cars and shooting his guns.  Jimi loved to cook and was the master of the grill.   He also baked the best pies and desserts from scratch.  Jimi loved listening to music, he had a huge record collection and was always playing Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, and The Beatles.  Most of all Jimi loved his children, grandchildren, and the love of his life Debi Sirles whom he just celebrated 51 years of marriage with.  He always told everyone that she was the prettiest girl he ever saw.  He is proceeded in death by his parents James Sirles and Elva Hakes, survived by his Wife Debi Sirles, Son Kevin (Marie) Sirles, Daughter Shannon Sirles, Sisters Edrice Sirles, Kelsie (Dennis) Strong, Toni Sirles, Grandchildren Caleb, Austin (Kaycee), Shaylea, Bryleigh, Great grandchildren Dominick, Carolyn, Dog children Koda, Rex, and many nieces and nephews.   The family would like to give a special thanks to the Doctors and Staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and all the Hospice Nurses and Aides at Applegate.  Above all we thank his wife Debi who was his main caretaker during his last year of life, she devoted herself unconditionally. 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the Camp Williams Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, UT 84065.  Viewing will be held from 11:00-12:00, Services will be held from 12:00-1:00 followed by a graveside service.

In lieu of flowers the family asks to send donations to cover funeral expenses to Debi Sirles @debi-sirles.
