James Maxfield

d. August 13, 2012

James Rulon (Jim) Maxfield
1928 – 2012

The garden has been watered, the lawns are mowed and dad’s gone fishing. Jim passed away suddenly but peacefully, Monday, August 13, 2012, in his favorite chair with mom by his side.

Dad is survived by Marilyn, his wife and best friend of sixty years; six children, Susan (Doug), HI;  Dennis (Cheri), CA; Cindy (Dan), AK; Sandra (Marty), WA; Janalee (Kent), UT; and Gabriella, UT; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Renella, Ruth, Glenys; brother, Brent; and sisters-in-law, Delores and Kaky.

Jim was born April 16, 1928 in Lyman, WY to Keith and Leatha Maxfield.  He was the second of nine children.  He married Marilyn Dyreng on December 26, 1951.  They were later sealed in the Manti Temple, July 21, 1952.

He proudly served his country for four years in the US Air Force, including one year in Korea.

Dad loved life, his country and his family. He enjoyed fishing, but the highlight of his day was a phone call or visit from one of his kids.  He will always be remembered as Santa’s helper as he built countless doll houses and Christmas toys.  He touched many lives with his wood working skills, sharing his garden produce and his ability to fix anything.

Preceded in death by brothers, Lawrence, John, Everett and sister, Beth.
