Irene Carrico Olson
1921 – 2014

Irene Carrico Olson our beloved mom, grandmother, and great-grandmother peacefully returned home to her Heavenly Father and eternal sweetheart on December 6 th 2014 at the age of 93. She lived an amazing life, full of love and service toward all of God’s children. It was impossible to know her, and not absolutely love her.

Irene was born on September 14, 1921 in Spring Valley, Nebraska to Alva and Ella Carrico, and married her eternal love Doyle H. Olson February 16, 1941 in Brigham City, UT (deceased 2/7/1976). They were sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on February 16, 1960.

Survivors include her two daughters Toni Lee Gundersen (Brent), and Jo Ann Caldwell (Lynn) as well as her 24 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson. In addition to her husband, Irene was welcomed home by her son Ronald Doyle Olson, her daughter in-law Connie Ann Olson, her 2 brothers Garld and Kenneth Carrico, a sister Maxine Carrico Markwardt , and her mother and father Alva and Ella Carrico.

A convert and devout member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, her faith was unwavering. Irene was call and server in many positions over the years, she work in Primary and Young Woman’s for years and served as president in both organizations, she served in the Stake Primary presidency in the Highland Park Stake. She also served in Relief Society; Irene was a visiting teacher at the time of her passing. She was an example to us all in enduring to the end, for she always found the good when there was none to be found. Irene truly lived a Christ centered life, and made sure her family knew how important the gospel was to her. She had a gift of making everyone she encountered feel special and loved. She had a large family, but somehow found time to make special memories with each one of us. Now, we will cherish the memories we have made with our dear mother, and grandmother, and wait for the day we can be reunited again.
