Grant Arden Hansen passed away July 19, 2023 from a broken heart and other health complications, just 6 weeks after losing the love of his life, Judy.  He was surrounded by his loving family.

Grant was born December 3, 1936 to Thelma Bryant and Glen Arden Hansen in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from South High School before joining the Air Force. During his time in the military, he was stationed in California and France. In 1960, Grant met the love of his life, Judy Dawson and they were married June 20, 1962. Together they raised three wonderful children. After Grant left the Air Force, he began a career working for the Federal Aviation Administration for over 30 years before retiring in 1986. After he retired, he chose to work for the National Park Service at Denali National Park for a summer and thoroughly enjoyed his time in Alaska.

Grant was a selfless man who loved to help his family and friends. He would quietly show up and help whenever he heard there was a need. Together with Judy, they took care of his mother Thelma during her last years, faithfully caring for her in their home.

Grant was an avid fisherman and loved to go fishing with family and especially his best friend Kenny Johnson and close friend Darrell Raddon. They spent many trips fishing together at Naughton Reservoir in Wyoming. He was also a competitive racquetball player often besting players 20 years his junior well into his 70’s. For the last several years, Grant lovingly took care of Judy. His advice, stories and presence will be missed by his family.

Grant is survived by daughter Corrie (John) Roberts, son Troy (Cheree) Hansen and son-in-law Manfred Lassig; grandchildren Tye Hansen, Trevor Roberts, Cassia Myrberg and Dani Clark; six great-grandchildren, brother Boyd (Barbara) Hansen and sister Linda Milford.  He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Judy, parents, and his loving daughter Michelle Lassig.

Throughout his fight, Corrie, Troy and his daughter-in-law Cheree never wavered in their devoted care they gave to Grant.

A private celebration of Grant’s life will be held at his home in the future.

He will be laid to rest at Elysian Gardens in Salt Lake City.
