Gloria Marie Black beloved Mother and Grandmother, 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on January 1, 2024. 

Gloria was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 7, 1931 to Lawrence and Louise Grant. Married to Paul D. Black.  She worked at the University of Utah Alumni house for 20-years and loved the Runnin’ Utes and the Utah Jazz.  She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  Gloria loved gardening and raised many beautiful flowers.  She loved to share those flowers with others by arranging gorgeous bouquets for her ward and to lift the spirits of family and cherished friends.

She made friends with everyone and was especially close with her neighborhood friends (“The Gang”) that she loved for more than 65 years.  The Oregon Coast has been her happy place for over 22-years and she visited there as often as she could.

Gloria is survived by her children; Gordon (Kathy) Black, Debby (Scott) Christiansen and Robert (Amy) Black, 14 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. Sister Colleen (Dee) Christensen.  Preceded in death by grandchildren, Sean Black and Cari Cameron and brother Larry St. Clair.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 5, 2024 at 11:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints ward building located at 7075 South 2245 East, Cottonwood Heights, Utah 84121.  Viewing will be held one-hour prior to the Funeral from 10:00am to 10:45am Friday, January 5, 2024.  Internment at Memorial Mountain View Cemetery.
