Fred Lewis Buxton

Fred Lewis Buxton was born March 29th, 1941 in Garland, Utah and passed away peacefully at his home in Cottonwood Heights on December 30th, 2022.  He was the son of Clyde Vern Buxton and Vivian L. Colebrook Buxton.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Verl William ‘Buck’ Buxton and Clyde L. “Vern” Buxton, and sister Shirley Gay Buxton Taylor.

Fred attended Jordan High School and served in the Utah National Guard.  He loved learning about history and had a deep appreciation for his ancestry and those who came before him.

Fred was a true child of the outdoors. His ‘green thumb’ was truly inspiring for those who had the honor of visiting his home, where he cultivated beautiful and unique species of plants and trees. He lived for hunting, fishing and camping. Some of his favorite vistas were Strawberry Reservoir, Starvation Reservoir and Fish Lake.  He expatiated often, stories of the friends that became family during those trips.

Fred will be interned at Memorial Estates cemetery in Cottonwood Heights near his family.   A graveside service will be held at noon on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023.
