Frances Aleta Kellgreen Moon

Frances Aleta Kellgreen, 89, Died October 3, 2023 in Ivins, Utah.

Born October 9, 1933 in a house in Sugarhouse, Utah to Clifford Albert Kellgreen and Gertrude Ethel Pederson. Married Shirl J. or Jefferson Moon December 19, 1952 in Murray, Utah. 

She was a devoted family patriarch with a Swedish spitfire personality.  When asked how old she was, her reply would be, “Old as Dirt”. She had a great love for the beach and the ocean where she and Shirl shared time they enjoyed together.  She showed her love for family by knitting blankets that she would make for each new family member, as well as donating some to her local hospital NICU.  Most winters in Salt Lake City, she passed the time with family in front of the window putting together puzzles. In Ivins, a Friday tradition for her, was getting her hair done at the salon in preparation to be in her recliner to watch her favorite wrestler Roman Reigns with WWE wrestling. A little known fact: Our Swedish Spitfire loved to drive fast, she loved fast cars and hoped to one day own a Blue Corvette. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Shirl, her brothers Clifford and Ronald, son Mark Loyd Moon, great-grandson Jarrod Jr. Moon and her little dog Skeeter. Survived by her step sister Norma Olsen, her children Don Moon(Janice), Chad Moon(Cindy), Leslee Moon. Grandchildren Kelly Mahan(Michael), Kari Mayworm, Michael Moon(Tamra), Amanda Whittington(Dallas), Jeremy Moon, Jarrod Moon, Jamie Moon(Tyler). Great-Grandchildren Taylor Mahan, Matthew Mahan(Alexa), Marshal Moon, Gracelyn Moon, Laney Whittington, Jamison Whittington, Jordan Moon, Aiden Moon Polich. Great-Great-Grandchildren Layla Mahan and Maddox Mahan. 

We also want to give thanks to Dana Ickes who is the Veterans Care Coordinator and Susan her Hospice nurse from Applegate Home Health and Hospice along with her Visiting Angels. 

A graveside funeral service will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy, Utah 84092, Wednesday October, 11, 2023 at 12:00 pm.
