Eugene Ralph Fallentine, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went home to his Heavenly Father on Saturday, September 14, 2013.  He died in Missoula, Montana from a heart attack shortly after he fractured his hip.
He was born July 3, 1930 in Murray, Utah to Ernest Wicks Fallentine and Goldie Catherine Olson. Gene grew up in the Highland Park Ward, Sugar House Stake and served in the Swedish mission from 1950-1953. Gene played football for the University of Utah where he later graduated with a B.A. in Business Management. Gene served in the U.S. Army Intelligence Unit Eugene at the Pentagon from 1954-1955. He later graduated from U. of California, Berkeley earning his MBA, 1960.  Gene served in the LDS Church as Elder's Quorum President in six stakes of Zion, on High Council in two stakes, and as a High Priest Group Leader in the Missoula, MT Stake.
Gene was appointed as the Chairman of a Citizen Advisory Group by Mayor J. Bracken Lee in 1967 where he developed a wage and salary program for all Salt Lake City employees. Gene was employed by Kennecott Copper and the U.S. Postal Service where he served as the Director of Human Resources for over 20 years.  He retired from U.S. Postal Service in 1990.
Gene married Rosaline Joy Stout, later divorced. Married Lillian A. Tew in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on November 17, 1967 and had 6 children. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Fallentine, and children Ralph Fallentine, (Salt Lake City, UT), Deanna Hilton, (Franklin, IN), Scott Fallentine, (Rocklin, CA), Chris Fallentine, (Oakdale, CA), Brad Fallentine,(Rocklin, CA), Mark Fallentine, (Wellsville, UT), Mathew Fallentine, (San Diego, CA), John Fallentine, (New Zealand), Cheryl  Warnick, (Reno, NV), Deborah Olsen, (Spanish Fork, UT), and Rebecca Fallentine, (San Diego, CA).  A brother, Ernest Fallentine, sister, Gloria Bozich, and son, Allen Fallentine preceded him in death.
The viewing will be Friday, September 20, 2013 from 10:00-11:10 a.m. with services at 11:30 a.m. held at the Highland Park Ward, 2535 Douglas St, Salt Lake City. Burial to follow at Murray City Cemetery, Murray, UT.
