Erma S. (Corona) Brown

1926-2013

Mom passed away Tuesday afternoon at the home of her daughter, where two days prior she was surrounded by family and friends, when the visitors left and mom was alone, mom left. It was if mom was saying “finally the visiting is done and I too can leave.”
Erma was our mom, sister, grandma, great grandma and friend. Mom was 86, born in Denver, Colorado on October 30, 1926 to Francisco E. Sisneros and Delfina Atencio.
She married Reginald (Reggie) M. Corona, later divorced. Married Rulon S. Brown and they were later sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Mom graduated from Stevens Henager Business College and worked as a secretary/bookkeeper for businesses that mom and dad owned. Mom also helped operate a ranch in Clover Valley, Nevada with our step-father, where she had the opportunity to teach English to the children of the ranch hands, helping these children to graduate from school. The ranch was visited by many family members and we all have very fond memories of the ranch. After our step-father retired they moved back to Salt Lake and because of the volunteer work of our step-father they had the opportunity to travel to many countries, they also served a mission together in Trinidad. She enjoyed cooking, making the cookie Christmas Tree and Mexican food. She was a seamstress by heart and made quilts for the grandkids. She also enjoyed ceramics, stained glass and spent many years teaching stained glass at the Sandy Senior Center.
Survived by children, Reg (Karen) Corona, Jr., Kenny Corona, Corrine Corona, Marlo Brown, siblings, Julie, Penny, Efren and Anthony, many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Rulon Brown, one sister and three brothers.
Funeral will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013, 11:00 a.m. at the Brighton 3 rd Ward, 2325 East Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) A visitation will be held Friday, June 21, 2013, at the Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and the day of the service at the church from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Interment Murray City Cemetery.
Special thanks to Pat Parault and to her daughter Corrine Corona, who had mom live with her for the past 15 months.
