Dennis Lee Johnson, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, age 85, passed away on August 13, 2023, surrounded by family. 

He was born February 19, 1938, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Farrell and Maurine Johnson. After graduating from Olympus High School, he met the love of his life, Lynn Dean, while cruising State Street. They Married on March 27, 1959. 

Dennis was a devout LDS Church member and served faithfully in many callings throughout his life. He lived life to the fullest, working hard and playing hard. He was a true entrepreneur and was successful in many different endeavors. He was born with a competitive spirit. He excelled at tennis and won many tournaments, including the No Champs with Lynn. He loved running, skiing, hiking, boating, and riding dirt bikes with his family. He hiked Half Dome in Yosemite several times and, at the age of 70, hiked Buckskin Gulch, a 20-mile slot canyon. He and Lynn loved to travel and visited several countries. In 2009 they celebrated 50 years of Marriage with their family. 

Dennis is survived by children Tari Slizewski, Jacci Bacon (Jim), Kelly Gieber, Dana Zygmunt (Steve), and Ben Johnson (Katy); grandchildren Katie, James Ryan, Rudy, Berkeley, Cody, Evan, Jammin, Madi, Josh, Kasey, Brandon, Nicki, Mia, Talia, Riley, and Emma; great-grandchildren Summer, Nylah, Tabor, Quinn, Ayo, Tessa, Maisey, Jordyn, Dami, Jetson, Ellie.

He is survived by his two loving sisters, Betty Morris and Phyliss Cazier. He was preceded in death by his wife Lynn, son Ryan Johnson, son-in-law Mike Slizewski, grandson Wiley Johnson, his parents, and brothers Blaine and Robert Johnson. 

Services are at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2nd, 2023, at the LDS Meetinghouse, 6890 South Whitmore Way, Cottonwood Heights, UT. 84121.
