Cottonwood Heights

Darby Dawn Barstow, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away June 27, 2023, at the age of 77, surrounded by family.

She was born June 3, 1946 in Vallejo California to Joan and Clifford DeRosia. Married Phillip Barstow on July 1, 1964, in Reno, Nevada. In 1977, Phil and Darby moved with their three children to Utah. They were married for 54 years before Phil passed away in 2018. Darby loved to read, travel, and spend time with her family. It was even better if she could spend time with the family traveling. She recently did a Panama Canal trip and a Disney trip.

Darby had a craft business with her daughters for over 25 years where she made many friends and great memories doing shows in Seattle, Snowbird, and local shows in the Salt Lake area.

Darby's children and grandchildren were her world. She made all of them a priority and spent as much time as she could talking with them on the phone, going to watch sporting events, or just having everyone over for a game night. She loved to cook. Her meatloaf was the best around, her stuffing was the talk of Thanksgiving, and even the pickiest of her family loved her tacos.

Darby was preceded in death by her husband Phil (2018). She is survived by her three children and their spouses: Karen and Mark Reynolds, Mike and Beth Barstow, and Pam Hill. She is also survived by her brother Curt and wife  Linda DeRosia and sister Patricia Murray, as well as in-laws Donald and Betty Barstow, Irene Freed, and Ron Calbreath. She will be missed by her ten grandchildren and spouses as well as her great-grandchildren:  Michael, Kayla (Travis), Nicholas (Morgan), Jacob (Shelby), Kassandra (Nickolas), Rylee (Matt), Kelsey (Drew), Marissa, Rhet, Alex, Adrianne, Isaac, Aaron, Lily, Kayden, Eli, Zeke, Desmond, and Aubrey.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 5th, 2023 from 2-5 at the house of Mark and Karen Reynolds located at 16027 Coupler Lane Bluffdale 84065.
