Claudia Crane Rasmussen
1933 - 2017

Claudia Crane Rasmussen was born April 30, 1933 in Salt Lake City to Milton E. and Myrle Thurber Crane.  She passed away on May 12, 2017.   She graduated from East High School and LDS Business College.  She married Mark L. Rasmussen in the Salt Lake Temple on December 19, 1951.  They spent 65 wonderful years together, including a fulfilling year serving a mission together in Ohio.  She worked as head secretary at Butler Middle School for 30 years and loved the students and faculty.  She served as an ordinance worker in the Jordan River, Salt Lake and Oquirrh Mountain temples for 15 years.  She especially enjoyed helping with weddings.

As someone who is unequalled in her relentless giving, caring and thoughtful acts, our mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Claudia has always been there for us with her thoughts, prayers, and service.   She has been an avid Atlanta Braves fan and she and Mark seldom missed a televised game. She also enjoyed basketball, football and soccer games. When Claudia visits our homes, we feel the void when she leaves, and miss the joy she brings.  Now that she is in her eternal home, that feeling of love for her by all of us is eternal and will never fade.

Survived by husband Mark, children:  Ken (Cathie), Marcia Daybell (Marc), Denise Carlson (Mont), and Jay (Jane).  Fourteen grandchildren:  Arnica, Ryan, Brent, Megan, Paul, Mark, Emily, Chelsea, Jared, Carli, Jordan, Jessica, Julie and Jake, as well as twenty-nine great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her sister Colleen Smilanich.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 20, 2017, 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Chapel, 10124 South 1300 West, South Jordan, Utah.  A visitation will be held Friday, May 19, 2017 at Cannon Mortuary, 2460 E. Bengal Blvd. (7600 S.) from 6-8 p.m. and the day of the service at the church from 10-10:45 a.m.  Interment Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park South Valley.
