Carolyn Faye Crowther Jackson passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 9th, 2026 at age 97 in her home of 72 years in Millcreek, Utah. Carolyn was born on January 3rd, 1929 to Leonard Cornellious Kelly Crowther and Faye Palmer Crowther in Salt Lake City.
On May 16, 1949, she married the love of her life, Jay Neil Jackson. Their marriage was later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple and they were married for 66 years before his passing in 2015. They will be overjoyed to reunite with each other. After raising their three children (Jay, Connie, and Larry), Carolyn worked at New York Life as a receptionist and Blue Cross-Blue Shield as an actuary. After retiring, she and Jay traveled and spent time with their grandchildren.
She was an accomplished gardener and painter, great puzzler, avid genealogist, and she loved to knit, sew, crochet, and embroider. Carolyn was a loyal member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for her entire life, and held many callings.
Carolyn was greatly loved and left behind a family who will all miss her: her children, Connie and Larry (Jeff); daughter-in-law Judy; grandchildren Alisha (Justin), Bryon (Shazell), TJ (Stephanie), and Mica (Bonny); great grandchildren Olive, Ender, and Opal; nephew Robert (who she helped to raise like a son); and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, sister Joyce, son Jay, husband Jay and his siblings.
The family is grateful to her nurse Melissa, caretaker Brooklyn, Dignity Home Health and Hospice, Cornerstone Caregiving, and to Carolyn’s many neighbors and friends for their visits and support in her final years.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, April 18th, 2026, at the Canyon Rim Ward Chapel at 3000 South Grace Street (3100 East), Millcreek. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 9:30-10:30 am prior to the service. Interment will be at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park the following Monday, where she can rest next to her husband Jay.
