Carole Joan Wise, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, friend, and confidant, 80, passed away, at home in Mesquite, Nevada on September 13, 2023, of lingering 10-year illness, pulmonary Fibrous.

She was born on July 9, 1943, in Decatur, Illinois, to the late Robert Nathan Butler and Alma Ruth Martin. She married Gerald Lessley Wise on September 19, 1987, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Carole was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and confidant. Carole leaves behind her husband of 37 years, Gerald Wise, and their children: Breanne (Shawn), T'keyah, Michael (Jodie), and Zachary (Erin). She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Olivia, Mikayla, Aaliyah, Belle, Malaki, and Elysha. Carole will be deeply missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and other friends and relatives. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Brother Billy (donna), Sister Dianne (Eddy) and by her oldest daughter, Dawn Michelle, who was laid to rest at Memorial Estates cemetery. Carole's wish was to be interred at the same cemetery as her daughter.

Carole had an interesting life with several careers: a hypnosis therapist and performer spanning 17 years. She retired as a successful hypnotist and moved to Salt Lake City when she married Gerald. In her new city she worked as weight consultant for a major diet program, then an administrative assistant at the University of Utah along with being a dance coach for her daughter Tekeyah. Carole's dedication and passion for her work left a lasting impact on those she served.

In 1987, Carole became a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When Carole and Gerald moved to Mesquite, Nevada, she was called to the position of stake worker at the Family History Search Center. Her faith was an important part of her life and brought her great joy.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 11:00 am, at the Willow Creek 9th ward, 2115 Creek Road, Cottonwood Heights, Utah, 84093.

Visitation will be held at the Cannon Mortuary 2460 E Bengal Blvd (7600 South) , Sunday October 22, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, and the day of the service one hour prior at the place of service.

Carole will be laid to rest at Mountain View Memorial Cemetery– Cottonwood Heights

Carole loved cats and dogs so donations to Humane society rather than flowers in Carole’s name would be preferred rather than flowers.

Carole's warm presence and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory be a source of comfort and strength to her family and friends.
